As a veteran, the Hero Rewards program was a real benefit we didn't expect. Jason walked us through every dollar, and the savings at closing were significant.

FAQ
Heroes ask these first
The questions every hero asks before signing up — answered up front.
Five broad categories: military (active duty, veterans, surviving spouses), healthcare workers (nurses, doctors, EMTs, paramedics, allied health), educators (Pre-K through university — teachers, admin, staff), first responders (firefighters, EMS), and law enforcement (officers, deputies, corrections, border patrol). If you're not sure your role qualifies, just ask — I'll check.
On average about $750 per $100,000 of home price, paid as a check directly from Homes for Heroes after closing. On a $400,000 home, that's roughly $3,000 back in your pocket. The exact amount depends on the final sale price and is calculated by Homes for Heroes — I don't set it.
No. Homes for Heroes membership is free. You sign up at their site (I'll send you the direct link), confirm your eligibility, and that's it. There's no membership fee, no subscription, no hidden cost.
Yes. Hero Rewards is paid by Homes for Heroes after closing — it's separate from your loan financing. So you can stack it with a VA loan, FHA, conventional, MSHDA down payment assistance, or any other program you qualify for. Nothing about Hero Rewards changes your loan options.
You get rewards on both transactions. Two closings, two checks. This is actually the strongest case for the program — heroes moving up or relocating often save several thousand dollars when both sides of the move qualify.
